厦门星海合唱团创建于1950年，是厦门市文联直属的业余合唱团体，现为中国合唱协会团体会员。历年在厦门市重大节庆、接待和纪念性活动、对台对外文化交流、帮助基层群众文化活动开展等方面表现优异。
多年来，合唱团以歌会友，学习提高。先后与严良堃、郑小瑛、吴灵芬教授等名家合作，与中国交响乐团合作演出“王立平作品音乐会”；曾出访欧洲及菲律宾、泰国、马来西亚、印尼、斯里兰卡、印度、香港、台湾等十多个国家和地区。
合唱团常年坚持排练、业务培训和交流演出，积累了众多中外优秀声乐曲目，已形成多声部、多种声乐表演形式的完整建制。
Xiamen Xinghai Choir
Set up in 1950, Xiamen Xinghai Choir is an amateur chorus group directly under Xiamen Federation of Literature and Arts, currently a member of China Chorus Association. Over the years, it has played a excellent role in many cultural aspects and occasions such as important festivals, receptions and commemorative activities, cultural exchanges with Taiwan and with foreign countries, grass-root mass cultural activities. Besides，it works hard to improve itself and make friends via music. It has cooperated with several chorus conducting celebrities including Yan Liangkun, Zheng Xiaoying and Wu Lingfen and worked with China Philharmonic to sing in Wang Liping’s artwork concert. It has visited Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Hong Kong and Taiwan and other countries and regions.
After years of rehearsal, training and performances for exchanges, the choir has accumulated a great number of excellent Chinese and foreign musical pieces and developed a complete system with multi-voices and diversified forms of musical performances.
